Our ethically crafted scrunchies are made with a soft, luxurious dead-stock Tercel fabric and elastic crafted with Organic Cotton Natural Rubber. Crafted with care, our scrunchies are adorned with dainty bronze COUTONIC branded labels, each meticulously fashioned by a skilled craftsman with whom we maintain a direct and collaborative partnership. These labels serve as a symbol of our unwavering dedication to quality and sustainability. Each tote is expertly designed and every label is lovingly hand-sewn onto our scrunchies in Orlando, Florida by slow fashion designer and owner of COUTONIC, Danielle McKellar.
ABOUT TENCEL
Tencel is manufactured from Eucalyptus trees, which grow fast and thick on low-grade land, using 80% less water than cotton. The production of tencel is also done without the use of pesticides or insecticides.
ABOUT ORGANIC COTTON
This fabric is grown using methods with low environmental impact. The seeds are non-gmo, and the crop is farmed without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers - making it safer for the farmers, workers, and the entire wildlife eco-systems. The organic cotton used is also GOTS certified, meaning it has met requirements that ensure the organic status from harvest through environmentally & socially responsible manufacturing.

Deadstock material refers to unused fabric that was originally produced for a project but never sold or used, often left over from fashion brands or manufacturers. It’s a sustainable choice because it prevents waste and reduces the need for new production.
